About Brian

The road to good health is different for all of us.  For some, it’s always been a way of life. Organic foods, fruits, vegetables, farmer’s markets, sports, and lots of outdoor exercise and activities.  I consider these people to be incredibly lucky.  For many others, the road was long and in many cases painful, because for most people it takes something traumatic to get them to take action in improving their health.  The human race seems to work that way, and I must admit that I am no different.

I consider myself to be a pretty healthy guy today, but it definitely was not always that way. I was bright, energetic, and athletically active throughout my childhood and teens.  As time progressed however, I was always finding myself falling short of my goals and aspirations.  I moved to NYC in the mid 90’s to pursue my acting career and had several great opportunities, only to find myself constantly losing them.  In time I would come to realize that I was a victim of addiction.  In fact, I eventually lost the better of two decades to severe substance abuse.  By the end I was very sick, malnourished, weak, and had absolutely no self worth.

Today I do things a bit differently. I live in the solution instead of continuing to live in the problem.  The fact is that I was really too sick to help myself, so I became humble and allowed others to help me.  After a short time into recovery I was overcome with a relentless calling to change everything around me,  so I dropped what I was doing and went back to school.  I attended and graduated from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition here in NYC and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach.   While I was in nutrition school I enrolled at the The American Academy of Personal Training,  also here in NYC ,and became a Certified Personal Trainer. I now make it my mission to help others  get well from whatever it is that is making them unhealthy.  Are you overweight?  Diabetic? Alcoholic or drug addicted?  Don’t know what is good for you and what is not when shopping for food?  These are some, but not all of the things I am here to help you overcome.  If you think you might want to get started, give me a shout!
